I have dark brown hair and I recently had my hair highlighted. My stylist got the highlights too light. It almost looked like I had streaks of gray hair! I did not want to hurt her feelings, so I purchased semi-permanent hair color in "light brown" and applied it to my entire head. I thought it would turn the highlights a little darker - however, it DARKENED my entire head back to dark brown. I want the highlights back! I have tried washing with Dawn dish detergent and a clarifying shampoo, but it has only slightly lightened. Is there any way to lighten the color on my highlights without damaging my hair?

Usually semi permanent fades gradually and if you keep shampooing every day I think it will keep fading a little. Be careful about trying to fix the color again so soon or you might have to post about having green or purple hair or something :( I learned the hard way before..
