I am sorry, your scenario isn't really clear. How do hyperlinks assist with editing? That's not their functions. Are you using the right terms? Do you mean just "link"?

What are the formulas in some of these cells?

Sorry for the confusion. It is hyperlink, I copy one workbook and I special past and select the hyperlink feature. So any changes I make to the original workbook gets automatically changes in the hyperlink workbook. The workbook is a form that needs to be filled out by several different employees, so how can they fill it out? Since its hyperlink it does not allow me to make any changes to it. It doesn't have formulas its just a form

I hope that makes more sense.

What you're describing is not a "Hyperlink", it's just a "linked cell". A hyperlink is a clickable cell or text string that when clicked brings up another document or web page onscreen.

This is a hyperlink: Google (http://www.Google.com)

You are correct, linked cells (cells with formulas in them that link back to an external workbook) cannot be edited manually without destroying the links. The point of a linked cell is to show edits made in the OTHER workbook. So, changes would need to be made in the source cells, not the cells with the formulas.

What you're observing is correct designed behavior.
