Hello:
I have a Lennox HS18-261-8P, 4/87, that is continually blowing the fuses in the exterior panel. When I replace the fuses, it comes on and runs fine for up to a few hours and kicks off again (I notice the circulated air has become warm and look out to see the fan no longer turning and find at least one fuse blown). An AC tech mentioned that I could replace the fuse, watch the unit, and when it fails notice if the compressor is still running, and if so that would indicate the fan motor as the problem. He also said that the compressor would run until it overheated and tripped a thermal protect switch or drew so much current it would blow the fuse again. Do you agree with this? Any way to determine what's the cause of the fuses constantly blowing?
