I have been having this terrible pain in my lower right side. Between my side and spine. I went to the ER and they said its probably just a swolken disk hitting a nerve. Gave me some muscle relaxers, a steroid and some cortizone shots and sent me home. The weird part is in the mornings its not that bad, I can constantly feel it all day, if I arch my back or turn a certain way, but by 6 or 7 at night, its excruxiating. No matter how I sit, stand or lay. Its been almost two months now. When I was in ER, they tested my urine for blood to see if it was a kidney stone, and said my urine was fine. Since then though my urine has been a dark brownish color. Esp in the mornings. Sometimes all day. If it was that though, wouldn't it of shown then, since it was bad enough for me to go to the ER already. I don't know, I'm at a loss here. Im so sick of hearing oh its muscle or nerve, when its so bad I can not sleep on my side back or stomach, hell even sex w my husband is so painful its unenjoyable. I also have two small children, and the lack of sleep plus constant pain is really effecting my quality of life with them. Any other ideas or suggestions? Im so over doctors. I feel like no one will actually listen and try and help me. Its so depressing.
Thanks ahead of time for any advice.

What has your GP said? ER doctors are only there to treat and street, but not to follow up.

I went to a neuroligist ( I def need to find a new dr) and he didn't say much. Just gave me some trigger point injections and said if its not better in a month to come back. I go back in two days, I'm just so sick of the waiting game. I don't know why its so hard to find a dr that will take the time to run tests and at least let me feel like they are trying. Its so exhausting and expensive to keep going to dr and leave feeling like nothing was resolved. I just wish I at least knew what was causing the pain. It scares me, the not knowing part. Im only 28 and I've already had cervical cancer. Hopefully ill get more answers on wendsday than last month.

You've been to the ER (not a wise move) and you've been to a neurologist, but why don't you have a family doctor? Did you mention the brown urine to anyone yet?

ERs are great in an EMERGENCY. I see how this could have been considered an emergency in that it could have been appendicitis.
May I ask why you are seeing a neurologist?

Why was it a mistake to go to ER. At the time I thought it was a kidney stone. I have been to neuroligist in the past for pinching a nerve in my neck constantly. My muscles were too tight. I no longer have that problem. I went to a neuroligist the hospital referred me to last month. No I haven't mentioned the dark urine, it wasn't happening last month. I will tomorrow though.

I do have a family doctor, but my co pays are expensive so I'm trying to go as little as possible. The ER referred me to a neuroligist so I went w what they suggeated.
