Ok so my last normal period was in jun.. and spotted 6 days last mouth and 2days late this mouth.. I took a first response pregnancy test && it read positive! But I went to the er because of the spotting && they took a blood test && they said I wasn't! Could they be wrong && could definitely be pregnant?

Yes the ER may be wrong, ER is not the place to go ifyou want a pregnancy test.

Go to your own doctor to confirm, it is unusual for the HPT to be wrong but possible also.

Angel, not that I want to question actual doctors, but I have to say this. Blood work taken at the ER, I will never again rely on it.

Many years ago, when my daughter was 2, she had convulsions, due to a high temp. Febral convulsions they're called. Well, she actually passed out, we couldn't wake her. We called an ambulance, she was rushed to the hospital. While there they did tests. Blood work, urine, you name it.

A few hours later she was fine. To this day we don't know what happened. We went home and she was her usual two year old self again.

But the next day I got a call from the hospital telling us we had to come back, the blood work had come back and she had a very serious disorder, we had to bring her back asap. I'm sitting there looking at my baby, playing with her dolls, bugging her brother. I told them they're wrong. I asked if she would appear to be okay if they were right. They said no, that she's a very sick little girl, and she would be on her death bed. I told them, she's playing, she's fine. They insisted I was wrong.

So we went back to the hospital, had more blood work done. Turns out they screwed up. The blood tests were contaminated, or switched with someone else, they didn't know which, and the readings were inaccurate. Duh! I could have told them that!

Having said that, false positives on a urine pregnancy test are very rare. But they do happen.

I wouldn't trust a hospital to give you an accurate test though. Go to your doctor for a blood test. Much more reliable.

Good luck. :)
