Hey everyone, I had a house built about 2 years ago and there is one thing that has been bugging me. We have 4 light fixtures run to one switch. Without ripping apart my house, is there and easy way so the first fixture is on it's own, and the other 3 are controlled by one switch!

Thank you!

Matt

Well, I really doubt you'll have to rip apart your whole house. Maybe just some of it. Maybe none of it. Without seeing it it is impossible to say.
I will say, if there is an attic above the area with the lights it is pretty likely that you can have it done with no damage.

Thanks, I meant more that I'm hoping to do without cutting open the walls or ceiling... I have a fully finished room above. Is it typical that each of the fixtures would be wired back to tge switch, or wired in series?

Thanks

Definitely wired from fixture to fixture. No way someone would wire four fixtures each back to the switch separately unless it was requested before hand.
Since you have a finished room above there is pretty much no way to do it without damage and repair to sheetrock.
