I'm twelve and I start middle-school in September. The thing is in the past I've been spending half the week at my dads and the other half at my moms. It's been stressful in the past and now that I'm going to middle-school I can't deal with the stress of it. I know that I should get my dad alone and tell him in a mature way but I'm really bad a conversations and things like this so I don't know how to bring it up. Any suggestions?

I'm on your side - children should not have to split the school week in half. But it all depends on the court order and your parents' agreement. This is a discussion that would best be done with both parents together, but if they can't get along enough to talk in person, AND your mother has already said that she is agreeable to having you all school days, then she should bring it up with him. If he tends to just go against anything she says, then prepare what you will say: how moving all your school work and clothes and any computers etc is a huge hassle, and how adjusting to each place is unsettling, and all that takes away from your ability to do well in school. If you take the bus, throw in something about that too. Assure him that non school days are about half the year (find out how many) and you will be spending equal time with him if he will just OK this.

Is there someone else you can help run interference for you? A clergy person, school counselor, grandparent or other relative? It would be best to get someone like that to help.
But the bottom line is mom is going to have to go to court to modify the custody agreement. Whether dad is on board or not.
