I have a wonderful scottish terrier,2 years old, very playful and usually with very good apetite,he never picks anything from the ground when we are outside. Well,he never did until yesterday. We were taking our morning walk when I saw him taking other dog's poop and eating it,I was a bit grossed out and I yelled at him, later on I took him to another poop on the ground just to see if he is going to try to eat that as well but he didn't even sniff it. When we got home,I gave him teeth cleaning bar and his fav food to eat,but he refused. I thought he is just angry for yelling so I let it go,he drank normally, all day but when we left for afternoon walk, same as late evening walk he didn't take any food after that as well. He is still very playful and jumps around me when we are going out, wants to cuddle which means he is not angry but still wouldn't eat,it has been more then 30 hours since he took his last bite, our vet appointment is tomorrow since today is Sunday but I am worried. I tried to check him myself and I think his belly is a little to hard and swollen a bit. Any opinion would be great, thank you all.

As disgusting as his behavior is, it's not unsual. Maybe there was something that the first dog did not digest that appealed to him. I'm rather baffled why you take him over to other "poop" and show it to him - ? It's entirely possible the first dog had worms, some other problem, and now he does, too.
As long as he's drinking he won't dehydrate before tomorrow.
As unpleasant as it is dogs were once scavangers and that is thought to be the reason behind this behavior - it's inbred.

I did it only to see if that is something that he would do again,I thought that he might took the first one by mistake or some other reason,I would never let him to eat it again, just wanted to see if he wanted to or not.

That's why I won't take my dog to a dog park - and I know different AMHD members have different opinions.
The park in my area does not check short records, doesn't require that the dog be licensed and doesn't clean up the park during the day. It is cleaned during night time hours.

Hi give him some Pepto-Bismol. He just might have a upset stomach. It shouldn't hurt him either way. You'll have to look up the dose by his weight online. Hope he feels better :)
