Were there any transmission problems, before they replaced the engine?
If it has an automatic transmission, try dropping and cleaning the pan and magnet, changing the filter, and refilling with the proper full synthetic automatic transmission fluid; e.g. Valvoline Import Multi-Vehicle Full Synthetic, which meets Volkswagen/Audi Specification TL52162. Have this done every 30,000 miles. Also, ask if any transmission codes were thrown; i.e. stored in the PCM (computer). Let us know the specific codes that were thrown.
When you need major engine or transmission work, it's best to take it to the dealer.
