How far is the run? And what is the breaker on the genset rated? And you need to run control wires as well. What model generator do you have?

I would run a #2 aluminum 4 wire SER cable, assuming this SER cable is not installed underground in a conduit.

Would terminate in junction box on out side wall (use) #2 installed in 1.25 pvc under ground conduit to generater.

80 feet generac 6052 with 200# smart switch 15 feet of feeder to house will run under ground. House has 200# under ground feed panel in basement.

I would sleeve #2 XHHW in the 1 1/4 PVC, use an LB to get into the house (looks better, and much cheaper than a PVC junction box). Nipple through the wall into a 6 X 6 X 4 metal junction box, then run the 2/3 SER over to the transfer switch.

Check the oil before you start the unit. Make sure you run another pvc pipe in the trench for the control wiring.

I recommend a supply house over a big box store. Make sure the #2 XHHW is type XHHW-2

The USE type insulation mentioned is fine also.

I would stay with PVC fittings and junction box. Any metal fittings or junction box used in a PVC and non-metallic system will need to be grounded by the equipment grounding conductor.

Be sure to run 4 conductors, 3 -#2 and minimum of #6 insulated for the equipment ground.

Good call on keeping it all PVC.

You can use USE, XHHW-2, URD quadplex. If you go copper, you can use THHN/THWN

What is the correct way to terminate the seu to the quadplex in side the plastic jun box. Home depot says to use spliceing terminals then cover with shrink wrap.

I'd use a #2 split bolt, (burndy), make sure it is dual rated cu/al then wrap it in tape. Or some NSI Polaris lugs, then you don't have to tape it.
