I have a class 3 felony on my record however at the end of my probation the conviction was vacated. I'm trying to get my cdl. And I've been told that even though my felony isn't a conviction, that its going to be difficult finding tuition assistance and later a job. Any idea how I can go about obtaining my cdl and finding a job? Any advice will help

Hello n:

You either ARE a felon or you're NOT... There is NO in between.. If, in your adjudication, they told you that your felony was vacated, BELIEVE THEM. When asked on an application, say NO.

So it is not the school, since any of them will take you if you write them a check.

What you can't get is someone else to pay for it. So have you looked into loans or payment plans with the school? Saving up money to take the school>

Hi nick and welcome, I know dozens of people that made cdl's with out cost of schools. All that's required is you have the knowledge to pass the written test and the driving test.

So get your cdl learners, hook up with a driver(owner/operators are best) volunteer to help in load and unload in exchange for the learning experience.

As far as jobs, I would hire a felon (drug test required) so make your cdl's and pm me. Good luck it won't be easy.
