I am a fifteen year old girl and I've been having severe chest pains recently. I am very active and I run everyday. I haven't told my father yet because he says there are too many things wrong with me already. Like I have these severe stomach aches and cannot move or it hurts. My throat randomly closed up and I could not swallow after eating something I have eaten for years. But the chest pains are very random and its on my breast right above my heart. It hurts to breathe in too much and if I move it hurts. Why is this happening?

Pain per se cannot be diagnosed online. Sometimes it can be suggested what's wrong, when the pain is very localized in a certain area such as appendix or gall bladder and has other symptoms like vomiting. The question I have for you is why your relationship with your father makes you afraid to tell him about this. 'Too many things wrong with me' - what exactly does that mean? Have you been seen by a doctor or not for any of them?

Many symptoms in very active young people have to do with dehydration. Are you drinking enough water each day (not sodas, just water)? When you run, do you run on a road? That isn't good for you because roads always slope down on the sides and the upper side leg jars against the road, upsetting the balance of the entire body. But first, what about the first set of questions?

If a parent refuses to let you see a doctor, you need to tell this to your school nurse as soon as school starts, and if anything is too severe to wait, go to the ER on your own. If you have been examined and nothing wrong has been found, that might or might not be correct.
