If I get renters insurance with a liability will it cover my dog. I have had my Pit bull 5 years is the friendliest dog in the world but my new landlord wants to protect himself and I can't find pet insurance what do I do?

Not unless it specifically says so in the policy. Specifically pit Bulls. THeir potiential liability costs are so high few if any insurance companies will include them in the usual coverage.

Even Pet owner coverage may exclude Pit bulls under the "Dangerous Breeds" clause.

Make no assumptions...

Call around to different companies.

I can understand your LL concern. You are covered UNLESS it is specifically excluded. You need to read the exclusion section. Does your state have a "1 bite law" in effect?

I doubt that you will get coverage. For the last 15 years or so, I have been asked specifically what breed I have. The last inspector even took a picture of my dog. Underwriters don't have a special section for 'friendly,' sorry.
