View Full Version : What to do about broken bathroom tiles?

I recently moved into an aprtment that already had some cracks in the bathroom tiles. However, after a few weeks of walking on the tiles, a few have broken and popped out. The landlord will not do anything. My concern is water getting underneath them and causing further damage. I am also concerned about our feet. I stepped on one of the broken tiles and got "pinched" and boy did it hurt. I am guessing the skin on my foot got in between one of the cracks. Because of all of the other issues I am facing with the apartment, I refuse to spend the money to have a professional come in and fix the problem. Is there any easy and cheap fix I can do to prevent further damage? I am only a few months in to a 2 year lease and expect the problem to only grow.

You can buy tiles from 'end of line' stores, or anywhere they sell tiles, always have some odd pieces laying around. Some they give for free. Take out the broken ones and buy some adhesive and grout (let the area dry well first) and stick them in yourself; that will elleviate the problem of cutting your feet up as well. Measure one of the existing tiles.

I appreciate the suggestion.
