I rescued my little doggy missy who was a jack russell 12y years ago and I can say she was one of the best things that have come into my life. I miss her dearly but I am also glad she is not going to suffer anymore and I had to do the hardest thing by having her put to sleep.
Missy was diagnosed with Congentive Heart Failure November 2011 and she was on pills up until the day she died. The Sunday morning that she passed she work up and the coughing started which was a sign. She went back to bed and that's when I found her about a minute later fitting which was such a horrible thing to see. I pulled her out of it and then called the vet because I think this was the time to. Missy got up ate her food picked up her bones and was playing. I didn't have to take her to the vets until 9am so I just stayed up with her for a while. Well went back to bed about 4.30 and she fitted again and I brought her round again but I knew that there wasn't much time left because she now was unable to lie down. I took her to the vets with my husband at my side and kissed her and told her how much we loved her and she was laid to rest.
I would say to any pet owners that no matter how hard it is for us we must think about the quality of life for our pets and try not to make them suffer.
I always use to say to my missy that if either of us go we must come back in spirit. I have been kind of feeling her presence and its like a really cold feeling around my ankles but maybe I am just being daft. Has anyone experienced anything like this I would be keen to found out.
