If I would like to try and get pregnant next month, should I get off my birth control this month ( a month early)? My doctor told me that the month I get off birth control is my most fertile month, so should I wait until I am ready to get pregnant?

Your doctor really told you that? I'm questioning because that's not entirely accurate.

Depending on your birth control, it could take several months to get out of your body, so it wouldn't necessarily mean stopping would = your most fertile month. I was on a certain pill and it took 5 months before my periods became regular again after stopping them.

If you're thinking about getting pregnant, NOW is the time to start taking prenatal vitamins (if you haven't already). Then, depending on the type of BC you're on, you might want to remove it/stop it a few months before trying. You could always use alternative birth control until you feel ready to try.

I will agree, you need to be off a few months normally for the birth control to have the least effect. It will be less effect. Next there is no "most fertile" you are fertile after there is less birth control medication in you

And it can take months of trying, almost never do you get pregnant on the first attempt even in healthy couples.

Did a doctor really tell you that
