My sugar has been up and down all day. I am a 65 year old woman. I have eaten, taken my insulin and nothing is working. I also have COPD.

The highs and lows are what cause damage - usually to your kidneys.
Call your Physician.
I know that's "easy advice" but there is little else to say.

Please don't fool around when it comes to your blood glucose, too high is a problem, too low, yet another problem, you know this.
Please seek medical attention if your blood sugar is swinging back and forth like this.
There is a REASON your glucose is swinging back and forth. What this reason is, we cannot tell you via the internt, but a doctor can.
I do suggest you get to the ER to have it checked out.

Yes, please go to the doctor! They will probably do a glucose test (where you have to drink this not so yummy drink) and monitor your sugar levels.
Also, cinnamon is supposed to be great at keeping sugar levels, well, level. Maybe try taking 1-2 tablespoons a day and see if that helps. :) (But still, go to the doctor!) :)
