Go away on vacation, relax and stop thinking only about getting pregnant.

A lot of women can't get pregnant due to stress, and constant thinking about wanting to get pregnant might be working to your disadvantage.

Take a vacation, just two of you, stop thinking that the purpose of it is to get pregnant and then see what happens.

Try to minimize your stress.

And most important: stop torturing yourself about the pregnancy.

5 months is well within the normal range of you being fertile and your husband's sperm being OK (85% of women get pregnant by the end of 1 year). Fertility experts will advise you to just be more patient. Getting tested is very expensive! Buy a basal body temperature thermometer (BBT) to take your temp in the middle of your cycle, because your temp will rise a tiny amount when you ovulate. Do more googling of 'detecting ovulation' for other signs like how thick the clear cervical mucous is.

I have read that it is not unusual for it take up to two years to get pregnant -

See a Physician if you are concerned.

I think the "vacation" advice is simply an old wives tale. Yes, everyone has a story about someone who adopted and then got pregnant but that is not sound medical advice.
