My Frigidaire top load washing machine used to make a popping noise like something was slipping, maybe once or twice a heavy load. Recently someone overloaded the machine and let it slip for several minutes before stopping and lightening the load. Since then the problem is much worse and the machine can not handle a load well. It occurs in the rinse/scrub cycle where the agitator thing rotates back and forth.

Despite searching for quite some time, I haven't been able to describe my issue well enough to find a related topic.
