Hi I started rowing about 3 weeks ago to lose weight and tone up. I am currently doing 1 km before work and 2 km when I get home Monday to Friday and 2 km on a Saturday. Is this enough do you think? Rather do it right and worth while, thank you

I assume that you aren't really rowing, but are erging - right? If you're spending maybe 5minutes in the morning and 10 in the afternoon it's a good start. As your endurance improves you'll probably get to where a minimum 20 minute workout is better suited.

It takes me 6mins in the morning and 12 minutes in the afternoon, I'll just try to go faster, what's erging?

The rowing machines is known as an "erg," and using it is called "erging."

Speed is not so important. Think of it like jogging - no need to sprint to get the benefits of a cardio exercise. As you gain endurance you will need to push a little harder to get your heart rate up, but that'll come later.

Does resistance matter? I've been using it at the top resistance of 8, my 6 ft 2 fiancé uses it at 8 but I'm only 5ft 1 and nowhere near as strong. Basicaaly is it better to go fast at lower resistance or slow with high resistance? Thanks 4 your help
