I have an almost 2 year old male boxer. He is for the most part a very behaved dog. The only 2 issues that I am having are his jumping on other people and being protective over myself, daughter, and nephews. Megatron (tron for short) will not jump up on my husband, myself, or my daughter. He is also super gentle with my special needs nephew and my 17 month old nephew that use him for a climbing toy. However when someone he doesn't know bends down to pet him he jumps up or tries to jump on kids to lick them. What's a good way to stop this? The next issue is when my husband leaves or is not with me at all and I have Tron with/without daughter and/or nephews he becomes very protective around men he doesn't know. And by doesn't know he could have met them before but if they aren't around a lot and my husband can't be seen he becomes almost mean. He growls,hackles, teeth baring, snapping. He has never bit anyone and I have worked with him and got him down to only growling unless MEN get to close. It only happens with men. I take tron on walks by myslef so my husband doesn't want the protectiveness to go away completely just be able to snap out of it from a command from me not him. Any ideas how to fix this?
