What are the symptoms?

Piping anterior to CC appeared to be red hot as viewed from open hood looking down, with motor idling loud and sparks emitted when raising motor.

What's a CC? Do you mean the exhaust system?

What kind of sparks? Electrical? Is something on fire? Where are these sparks coming from? And what do you mean by "raising motor?" Do you mean "racing" the engine?
