Hi,

Just moved into a rental and someone has removed the 3-speed switch from the ceiling fan and wire-nutted wires together. Would like to install a new 3-speed switch, but don't know what color wires to put into the # 1, 2, 3 terminals. Of course the black wire goes into the L terminal.

Please help.

Please call the landlord to fix this. You should not be doing any electrical work in a place you do not own.
