The Defense Attorney I Talked To Needs a $2,000 Retainer Currently I Have $1,000 Are Attorneys good about letting people make payments? He Is Charging $160 an Hour "Pre-Trial"

No, most will not start until you can get the entire retainer.
You should understand, Soldier, that in most places once an attorney files a notice of appearance, he or she is to some extent locked into the case. One has to do certain things to withdraw. That's one reason a retainer is required.
