While taking apart Ceiling fan to replace 3 wire light switch, the whole bottom light portion fell and ripped the wiring from the rest of the fan:eek: . The fan has a lower lighting portion and an upper lighting section above the fan. The three positions are upper only on, lower only on and both on. There is a separate pull chain for the fan.

So from the switch I have:
L BLUE that ripped out of somewhere
2 BLUE goes to the black twisted bundle
1 BLACK goes to the plug unit that joins the upper part of the fan with the lower lighting unit.

Fortunately there was a plug that had all the wires coming from the upper fan/light to the switches and lower light

I cannot find where the loose, ripped end of the blue wire attached. There is also a blue wire in the upper plug portion (but not the lower) I inspected the plug to see if there were any missing wires but there were'nt.

QUESTION
Where does the blue wire from L on the switch ultimately connect?

L connects to the power source for all three lights from the ceiling. It ripped off from whatever wire went all the way through to connect th hot at the ceiling junction, and may have been part of the plug unit. '1' is for the upper lights. '2' is for the lower lights. I can't actually TELL you where to connect the wire without looking at the fan in front of me, but you should be able to figure it out.
