Hi, thanks for reading this. Ok here's the facts:
I am 31, engaged and childless. I am currently 5 days late but I have never been very regular. I am not on any contraception as we are trying to conceive, I went off the pill in November. I took a test today and it was negative. However my nipples are very sensitive and my breasts are very tender and warm, even on my period I have never had these symptoms before. I am also a bit tearful. Should I see the doctor? Also does anyone know if I can regulate my periods? Thanks in advance

It's too hard to say if you're pregnant based on those few symptoms. Since your periods are irregular, it would also make it hard for you to know when to test. If you are at least a few days late from when you might be late, that is the time to test, using first morning urine. You can ask your doctor for a blood test as well.

Speak to your doctor about regulating your cycles. It will certainly affect your odds of becoming pregnant so how quickly you act is up to you. Periods can be irregular for a variety of reasons, including hormone imbalance, endometriosis, PCOS, etc. so having an exam & blood work is the first step in a diagnosis. Some women experience an improvement fairly easily; for others it takes some time.

Good luck
