I requested vacation time months before I knew I was going to be out of town for 3 months. Does my employer have to pay for me to get home? They paid hrs/gas for me to get here. Are they responsible for flying me home fort vacation or at least paying gas to get me home or am I stranded. According to CA laws

I'm a bit confused. Are you away on business? Is this 3 month trip for the company you work for, or a vacation?

This is a part of the job. This should have been defined when you accepted the job. Generally a company is responsible for transportation for business trips.

What I think you are asking is, since you have a scheduled vacation in the middle of a trip does the company have to pay to get you home to go on vacation. You should have negotiated this. This is a matter of company policy, not law.

Agree, they are not required to pay you, and often most companies do not give vacation if you are away from home but make you wait till you return, Was this a last minute trip, did you discuss it with them before you left?
