I'm 15 years old, female, and I have an internal itch in the lower area of the body.. its not too bad if I'm honest but it is annoying at times. My question is 1. how did this start? 2. How do I relieve it & 3. Will I have to go to a doctor/nurse to get a closer look? I don't exactly feel comfortable with people.. touching my private parts :/ Thank you, please reply asap as I'm away on vacation in 2 weeks!

You need to get it checked out. That's how you'll going to really know. I know its hard as a teen to get your private area checked out by a dr. you can always go to the health dept its free and they don't tell your parents either so give them a call.

If I'm honest, I would rather tell my mum than keep it a secret from her. I just don't understand how this started, I've never done anything in that area before! I want to tell my mum but.. its too embarrassing. Thank you for your advice anyway, it means a lot.

I think it is a very good idea to tell your mom even if you are embarrassed. Your mom might have gone through a similar situation. We females can have different problems in the genital area that have nothing to do with sexual activity. You definitely need to go to a doctor to get it checked out. Get it checked soon so that you can enjoy your vacation. Maybe you could ask your mom to take you to a female doctor if you are more comfortable with that. I am a married mother of two, and I still prefer female doctors to male doctors. Some of my friends prefer male doctors - they just don't think a woman should be touching or seeing that part of their bodies. Either way doctors are necessary for us to maintain good health - besides you will probably be due for your very first gynecologic exam soon, so you might as well get used to it

I will eventually, I know I will, its just finding the right time and how to. I tried so hard today when it was just us in the house, but its too awkward! I feel like texting it to her I'm that desperate! Some people have sugessted me to use certain creams but how can I use a cream when the problem hasn't been diagnosed? So yeah, I think the plan is to tell my mum and see a doctor. & I get a gynecologic exam? When? Sorry I had no idea! But that's a good thing, rather be safe than sorry I suppose! Thanks for replying & all your help :)

Write a note and hand it to her, send her a email, but honestly you as you get order will have many "female" questions and issues, and as you get order, regular female check ups are needed anyway
