I have been feeling out of breath lately, so I used one of the self-serve blood pressure machines at the pharmacy. My blood pressure came back 173/64 the first time, so I did it again and it was 171/65. My pulse was 91 both times.
I am a 47 year old male in average shape.

173 is high/ 91 pulse is high. However, you need to look at it over a time more than a drugstore check. Walking in BP's typically are higher as is pulse. You should rest for 5 minutes or so. Why not schedule a trip to your DR? I'm 71 and my last was 119/78, no medication.

Top is too high, bottom number perhaps too low.
You need to be treated for this
Top should be that 115 to 135, anything over 140 is considered a problem, at over 170 it is serious.
You need to make a doctors appointment

Your systolic (top) number is a little high and your diastolic (bottom) is a little low to average.
The best would be 120/80, but they have raised the bar to 140/90 to be on the high end of normal.
Do you have any other health issues? Do you take any medications?
