Maytag side by side door style, it makes ice but when you push the lever in the door , the hatch opens but it does not push out any ice.

In order to get ice we have to open the door and reach in and get it like the 1980s.

Any suggestions?

I am not an appliance tech by any means but our ice tray has an auger that feeds the ice to the chute. Maybe the auger has stopped working or is jammed with ice.
