I have a 92 Honda accord that has a intermittent starting problem. Sometimes I will drive the car, typically on short trips around 5 miles, and when I turn off the ignition and then try and restart the engine it will not start. So I take the key out of the ignition wait about two to five minutes and it will then fire up. During my attempted starting of the car the engine is turning over but there just seems to be no spark. This doesn't happen all the time, sometimes not for weeks, and sometimes everyday, or numerous times a day. Today I was driving the car and all of a sudden it just died, this is the first time that this has happened. Once again, I pulled to the side of the road, waited a few moments and the car would then start. With summer upon us I have had a few instances where I would go out to the car, that was sitting in the hot sun and it would not start, but after removing the key and waiting a few moments it would eventually start. Any ideas?

. Replace the main relay.

. Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil inside the distributor. Apply silicone heat transfer grease to the back of the new ICM.

I ended up removing the main control relay and re-soldering the circuit board as per the following link - http://techauto.awardspace.com/mainrelaydefine.html - and so far the car starts every time.
