Hi guys I was trying to see what you guys think is the best things for me to do to keep fleas & mosquitos of my dog
My girl is 6 going on 7 and she is about 20lb
Okay here is my problem:
She is allergic to everything I give her from hearts to frontline and from heart guard to sentinel. I had her already three times @ the emergency vet to get fluids(very expensive) because off toxic reactions to the spot on or the taps. Even giving her less than her exact weight doesn't work and spraying the yard is not assuring enough and I do that already like every 5 days Oo. What do you think about garlic or anything homeopathic! Im a real chicken because I love her too much
I don't know what to do with her anymore in the summer I most keep her inside to protect her from everything else while her brothers and sisters are playing in the yard.
Thank you guys already for your answers

Have you tried flea collars or those small flea treatments that you squeeze at the base of their head?

Collars no because my other dog will eat it right off her & spot on she has poisonous reactions

You she is good with that but Im worried about heart-worm as well I know if three dogs have med's against fleas the one that doesn't have should be good but what can I do against the mosquitos that they won't bite her in first place... any idea any home remedies to minemize the chances!

If I'm understanding you correctly she reacts badly to all topical AND oral products?
Good to stay away from the flea collars, they are filled with chemicals and just don't work well.

I have been experimenting with ways to kill each flea I pick off my 15 lb Jack Russell. (I waiting until the 1st of Aug to try a new chemical product, since I didn't know that Frontline Plus wouldn't work if not used for 3 continuous months first.)
I discovered that Adams shampoo only kills fleas for about 2 days, probably because of eggs everywhere, on her and in the house, despite washing everything.
Fleas don't drown in a bowl of water, nor even peroxide, in fact they almost escaped after 10 minutes. BUT THEY DO DIE IN SALT WATER. I am going to try a sink full of heavily salted water and a tiny bit of very mild soap, and rinse very well.

ASPCA | People Foods to Avoid Feeding Your Pets (http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/poison-control/people-foods.aspx)
As far as garlic goes, I couldn't remember if it was included in the not to feed category with onions, according to what I'm reading it is somewhat up in the air.
I've heard of Avon Skin so Soft being used as a repellent but after seeing this it seems that it only effective for a matter of minutes. (I've never used it myself)
Safe Mosquito and Insect Repellent for Dogs and Cats (http://vetmedicine.about.com/od/parasites/a/Mosquito-Repellents.htm)
With your little dogs' history I would get anything I was planning to use approved by her vet.
Her best protection against heart worms is of course the oral medications, what is her reaction? Topical vs. oral?
Just curious.

Thank all of u for the help
She is having toxic reactions to hearts, frontline, advantix, sentinel, heart-guard, and trifexis. With hearts and trifexix it was the worst. Dose fly off for dog works against mosquitos as well as it dose for flies? Dose anyone know
