I currently got admission in the US. I'm confused on whether to go back home and go to the embassy or stay in the US and apply for a change. My visitors visa expires in November 2012 and this is August. I've entered the US about 4 times in the past one year not from my home country though. The reason is I went through a bad divorce and wanted to be with my family dor support. I told them the truth about this as my main reason for taking an extended holiday. I'm currently in the Caribbean and confused on whether to go back to my home country for a student visa or come back and apply for a hange of status. Please help

If your aspirations are for further educational studies, you would be able to obtain a student visa much easier from your country than adjusting in the U.S. but I'm confused about your being in the Caribbean, U.S. Virgin Islands. By entering so many times from outside your country, the request for student adjustment would most likely be denied. If you can, before returning home, get your school of choice to provide you with an I-20 form SEVIS enrollment, which you can take to the embassy. It will provide you legitimacy for your F-1 student request.
