I just posted this on someone's post.

My friend gets tested for alcohol and drugs for condition of bond. Test $13.00 How does she find out what test the lab uses? ETG or other? No drugs were found in her system at time of arrest, just alcohol. She is waiting for trial.

3x the test came back dilute. Once she was sick, drank a ton of water and she is training for 1/2 marathon, losing weight and flushing her system. They say this may be a violation. She went in last week and the girl said it was dilute (no one said before) and to come back. She had 6 glasses of water that day, 3 cups of coffee, none 2 hours before test and ate some cabbage. It was 100 degrees outside. She took a bunch of vitamin b, no water and went back 2 hours later. Bright yellow.

Should her lawyer contest this?

She has a lawyer. She has had 1 beer in 4 months.

If they do not revoke the bond there is no need for an attorney.

If they revoke her bond she needs an attorney.

Diluted would be adding water to it after not drinking too much water.

If this was an EtG test it was could have been easily addressed at the time by calculating EtG to the level of creatinine in the sample. It's called U100EtG.

There are many reasons for a urine sample to be dilute beyond the actions or intention of the individual. If there was any drug, alcohol (unlikely) or EtG present in the sample her lawyer can obtain a copy of the result and it is quite easy to do the U100EtG calculation.

Another often used solution for a diluted sample is to require a supervised collection whereby she spends about 2 hours prior to test at the facility where they could see she doesn't drink any liquids. This happens thousands of times a day across the US and collection points, not the subject, should be familiar with standard alternative practices.

ADDED: Got so carried away I forgot the original question. She or through her lawyer can get a copy of the lab report. That will describe the test, instruments used and results completely.
