I'm 39 yrs old I have had diarrhea and stomach pain for over six hours now and the last few times that I have gone to the restroom I notice bright red blood in my stool, what is that from? Should I go to the e.r.

My own opinion is hemorroids, that would be new blood from around your anus. If it was old blood, dark, clotted, then it would be from another source which would not be pleasant.

Have you had difficult bowel movements? Straining a lot? Are you taking any kind of stool softener at all?

Maybe not serious but if you can get it checked now closer to the episode they might have a better chance of diagnosing where it is coming from.

Perhaps not ER but I would go see your doctor about it.
