Hello, I was arrested in the state of KY over 3 years ago for a misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking. I had my court date was on the diversion program but I did not have to complete any type of community service. The judge only stated that as long as I received no other charges for anything else that the charges would be disposed as dismissed after 2 years.
I have recently applied for 2 different positions. One at a head start and then at a bank both doing criminal back ground checks. I received a copy of my background check from the head start and it showed the name of the offense and it also showed that it was disposed as dismissed. Do the employers see this? Or was it only shown this way on my copy? They did call me and ask me for the position but I would prefer to work at that bank. I know I have a great chance there because I know a lot of people at this bank who has put in a good word for me but if they see that I was arrested for theft even if it's disposed I know they won't hire me. So my ultimate question is can they see this charge even if it states that it has been disposed as dismissed?
