Our beautiful , sweet 7 month old female German Sheperd has a problem with only one ear. They were both erect in the appropriate time , but since then, she has developed a problem with one. No signs of infection or ear mites. We have horses & I was afraid she'd been kicked, but she CAN hold it up at times. It's almost like it's more comfortable for her to leave it down. Any thoughts? Thanks..

I have the same problem with both ears, sometimes up and sometimes down. Curious to see what others say.

A good thing to do may be to go back at take a look at the parents ears.
Some of it could be genetic.
At her age you may still have a chance of getting the ear to stand, but you will need to find a vet who is well versed in ear cropping and taping. Not suggesting cropping at all, obviously GSD don't get ears cropped, only that a vet who provides that as a service will know taping techniques and can evaluate the ears.
Another source for taping techniques may be a reputable breeder of Shepherds.
After about a year old, the cartilage will be matured and you get what you get.
This about taps out what I know about ears, other than a flipped ear can be very endearing:)
