I have recently plead guilty to possession of a controlled substance and received a deferred adjudication as part of my plea deal. I have a number of advanced degrees (PhD, MA, and two BS degrees engineering and science related fields). A recent interview with my headhunter resulted in a rather disappointing outcome... as I was informed that the vast majority of companies will see this legal issue and simply disregard the application.

I grew up poor, I'll probably die poor, and I've made peace with this... all that I hope for is a means to provide my kids with a better chance at life than I started with.

My question is: Are there any companies out there in the oil and gas and/or chemical refinement industries willing to work with a person in my situation?

There's no master list - the only way to know is to apply or find another headhunter.
