We got a 4 or 5 yr old female lab/chow mix from a friend and for the first few months she was great. Potty trained excellently and very friendly. The last month she has been peeing in one spot on my area rug over hardwood floors. Very frustrating because its ruining my floors. We constantly let her out and she goes but sometimes she will refuse to go out and then I will find the wet spot on the carpet again. We put her in the utility room gated last night and this morning she broke out and pooped and peed all over in the same spot on the wood floor. We recently had a stray cat roaming by our house and since its been like 100 degrees out we've been leaving water and food outside for her but this peeing started before the cat but has gotten worse. She was just in heat also, is the excess because of the her cycle or may she be pregnant now?

First off, you should take her to the vet to rule out medical issues. Is she acting fine otherwise? At least run a urine test to ensure she isn't peeing because of an infection.

Barring that - are you walking her at all or just letting her out in the yard? A dog like that is typically high energy and very intelligent. I would start walking her during the cooler times of the day, at least 20 minutes or so.
