Im trining to get custody of my niece. She's been living with me for almost 3 months now. Her father can't get custody of her due to him hitting her so my my sister got her back. My sister was doing fine till she moved out of her places and when she did that my niece moved in with me. My sister has been staying with friends she's still hasn't got a place of her own due to she's to busy doing other things she shouldn't be doing. We agreed when she got back on her feet I would give her back my niece but that not going to happen. Im tired of fighting with my sister because of the things she does. So I would like to get custody of my niece but I don't even know where to start. I live in New York and I'm 22.

I hope that little girl, you don't say how old she is, has been abused by one family member, should never ever be in the same family again.

A child is not a commodity to be bartered around and I only wish I new where you lived to contact authorities to get her in a safe place.

The mother is off doing things she shouldn't be doing, is a good indication of where this post is going.
