My husband and I have been trying to conceive for some time. I have recently started using clear blue easy ovulation tests. I was getting frustrated cause I was never getting a smiley face. I am overweight, but not horribly. I had been concerned that this was affecting the reading. But anyway, Friday I got my first smiley face and was ecstatic. I romanced my hubby and later that evening had sex. I have been taking prenatal vitamins with extra folic acid to prepare my body, I don't smoke, and I stopped drinking socially to prepare for pregnancy. Well today is Thursday, seven days from the smiley face. Monday I started cramping, and Tuesday I started bleeding. Not a lot, but then Wednesday (yesterday) I had a full blown period day. Is this normal to start my period that close to an LH surge? I even had taken the ovulation test at lunch, well after the morning urination, because the directions said that urine that sits too long could give a false LH surge reading, but this was after I had urinated two or three times after getting up. I kind of did it on a whim after we had gotten back from vacation. Read a lot about menstral process, but this is really confusing me. I used to have irregular periods but back in September I took a round of clomid, and I have been more regular since. Any explanation as to having my period so close to my surge?
