Can never promise you will pass an EtG test but if you fail it will not be due to the drink you had on Friday. That EtG will have been eliminated well before test time.

I drank Friday night and Saturday throughout the day. Last drink was at 10pm on Saturday. I took a ETG test on Wednesday at 8pm. Will I pass?

About 92 hours between last drink and test?

If so, EtG/EtS is seldom detected at that time interval regardless of amount consumed and assuming you have no liver or kidney disorder.

No disorders that I am aware of. I ride my bike to and from work on Monday and Tuesdays, about a 3 1/2 mile roundtrip with a large hill on the way home. I am 34, 6'1", 250 lbs. I have been reading a lot of your posts and you seem to know a lot about this subject. Why do they even use this test?

The Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) used to screen for EtG is known to provide a high number of false positives. (1) EtG is very unstable in urine sample, post collection. (2) There are thousands of everyday products that contain sufficient amounts of ethanol to register a positive result if used or encountered within a 12-24 hour period pre-test.

Bet that makes you feel better.

1) Substance Abuse and Mental Health Association (SAMHSA) (http://kap.samhsa.gov/products/manuals/advisory/pdfs/Advisory_Biomarkers_Revision.pdf), Dept of Health and Human Services, Advisory, Spring 2012 (p. 7).

2) Rana & Ross, 2010 (http://www.gtfch.org/cms/images/stories/media/tk/tk77_3/abstractorals.pdf) Incidence of post-collection synthesis and hydrolysis of ethyl glucuronide (EtG) and ethyl sulfate (EtS) in random unpreserved urine specimens.

So based on just the drink on Friday and the test on Monday not figuring any other outside agents what would you say my chances of passing the test on

OK thank you I was hoping you could explain the breakdown a little to me I see where you do that often to questions like the hours based on the drinks ratio? If you are busy or don't want to that is fine too.. I really appreciate the help

2 drinks at 60+ hours requires no calculation. Makes no difference if you are M or F, tall or short, 90 lbs or 400, or if you drank it fast or slow. The alcohol was gone within 4 hours and EtG excreted within about 36.

A good study to review is Wojcik & Hawthorne (http://alcalc.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/full/agm014v1#T1) which dealt with consumption in that range.

Creatinine is the waste product of creatine and causes your urine to be more concentrated which in turn artificially increases the amount of EtG present. In your case there would be none present from the 2 drinks.

In the future, as I recommend to everyone subjected to EtG tests, drink plenty of water during the day prior to and day of the test up until about 3 hours prior to test. That will go a long way toward preventing a false positive from incidental exposure and will not come close to diluting the sample. Just stay well hydrated.

Thanks for reporting your results.

If you get a chance would you provide your gender, age, height and weight. It wasn't necessary for your calculation but I keep track for future reference
