Only cleaned cables. However , when you tap a black box under the hood with the wood handle of a hammer it will start.

There's a starter relay in the engine compartment junction box. If you can find another relay with the same part number, swap it out and see if that works. Also, this vehicle uses a Nippondenso starter and those have issues with the solenoid relay contacts. See this post on how to fix.

With a starter solenoid rebuild kit, it's easy to rebuild solenoids, which is usually where the problem resides, and save a lot of money. If you opt for a new/remanufactured starter, instead, it's best to go OEM on Toys.
