View Full Version : How can you tell when the distributor on the 1993 honda civic dx 1.5 is going bad

I have a 1993 honda civic dx 1.5 the car idles good but when you put it in drive the car asks like it has no pick up and when you take the distributor and turn it were it should be it runs good how can you tell if the distridutor if going bad.my email is [email protected]

I would replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil inside the distributor. Apply silicone heat transfer grease to the back of the new ICM. The distributor housing is likely fine, if you don't find orange dust inside or oil. The bearings in them go around 95,000 miles--it will sound like a thrashing machine.
