I have a John Deere mower model JS40.. After running about 15 min if you stop the mower to empty the grass catcher it is extremely hard to start again. The enginge acts like it has a brake on it and is very hard to pull. On occasion the engine will actually not turn at all with the rope pull. Has anyone had this problen and if so how did you correct it. No I don't want to get rid of the mower. LOL
Thanks

Hi,
That is a puzzling thing! Only strange thing that comes to mind is a combination of things(works that way occasionally) that involves a partially sheared flywheel key that causes the engine to run hot and when it is shut down is longer cooling itself and the heat rises up into the starter which has suffered damage and also is not as rigid when hot causing it to bind.
Told you it was farfetched, but I have actually seen it before.
Peace,
Clarke
