Every time I do laundry the bathroom sink downstairs , has standing water and over flows . It has already been snaked and it still overflows when I do laundry. The washer is also down stairs too. There is a wall separating the bathroom and laundry room. I have used drano but it only works for a week and the problem happens again what should I do?

There is a clog somewhere most likely. Are you referring to the basement when mentioning 'Downstairs'? Is the washing machine drain against a common wall?

There is a clog somewhere most likely. Are you referring to the basement when mentioning 'Downstairs'? Is the washing machine drain against a common wall? Well I live in a Split level house . I am not sure what the correct word is for the downstairs area. Yes the Washing machine is against a common wall and the other side of the wall is the bathroom . Do I need to call a plummer or can I use drano again?

If it works for a short time then do the sewer machine correctly. If it just does not work, find out how your piping is configured.
