One of my friend's ex boyfriend of over a year broke up with her two weeks ago. But, she didn't really come crying to me about it, she did that to my best friend. She is a close friend, but she is something. She has forgotten to give me my Christmas gift (which is in her room she "says") and says she will just use that gift as my birthday gift but she "forgets". She has never wanted to hang out with me unless she's bored, or not hanging with her (now ex) boyfriend. Its her world and we are just living in it.
Okay now for my question: I have been friends with her ex since the sixth grade (going into 12th grade now) that means 3 years before they became friends. We have been friends since then and dated on and off a lot until tenth grade. Well, I have serectly loved this boy since the ninth grade but we broke up for personal reasons. I know he has liked me this whole time, but (for more personal reasons) we couldn't date after the first half of tenth grade. He had started liking my friend but she was never interested in him, just liked the fact he was chasing after her, she kissed him though while she had a boyfriend. Then, they started to talk and then dated on my birthday! After they started to date, she asked if it was okay if they dated now since he was my ex, I regretfully lied and said yeah and they dated the whole time. To sum it up, they both loved each other, but she was always started fights with him and overeacting to the littlest things and always made fun of him being a christian. He couldn't take it anymore and ended it. (that's why he told me he ended it and it was also obvious.) Two weeks later, he texted me like he used to do before they dated and we just talked (just as friends) then as me if he wanted to go to the movies with a few friends. I said sure, but then it ended up only being me him and his other friend so we went and watched Ice age. Afterwards, he hung at his friends out until I went to work at five. We just played pool and pingpong and ate out. No flirting happened. Today, I felt bad because I felt my friend should know I hung out with him so I told her we just went as friends and she says this whole thing was shady and that I wasn't a good friend. I pointed out to her if I was being shady, I wouldn't have told her and would have made a move on him, which I didn't. (yes I like him but I wouldn't ever hurt my friend like that. But nobody knows I like him.) He even told me it wasn't a date, just hanging out. But she says that I'm a crappy friend now for pulling like this? I don't think I was in the wrong except that I should have told her I was hanging out with him before we hung out. But, I have been friends with this guy for almost 7 years, 3 years morethen her.
