Why original and creative? Wouldn't a high profit per unit labor ratio be a better goal when job hunting?

Here are some things I did during junior and high school. I don't know if they are original or creative but they paid better than minimum wage:

Swim School Assistant - Organized and prepped swim gear between swim classes.

Insert Stuffer - Inserted flyers and coupons in mailings of a local computer store. Pay was per piece, but was tedious.

Groundskeeper - Maintained grounds of local manufacturing plant and individual clients.

Computer Programmer - By working as a groundskeeper my foot was in the door at the manufacturing plant whose marketing department needed to make their product selection software more user friendly for their field representatives.

Window Washer - A classmate of mine started washing windows for individuals and then businesses and grew it into a successful enterprise he later sold.

Where there's a will, there's a way. You don't have to look too far to find something that needs doing or someone with a problem to be solved... even if they don't know it yet.

You mean you did those things in school? Because I live in ireland and we do things completely different?

Ok, I didn't phrase that properly. I didn't do them IN school. They were after school in the evening, weekend, and summer employment unrelated to school. The point I was attempting to make is that there are jobs available for individuals your age and while still a minor (under 18 here in U.S.) if you are willing and resourceful.
