I have a Lennox Sentinel EC10Q4-25 electric heat furnace.

My home is a cottage (basement: 33' x 25', 1st floor 33' x 25', 2nd floor 33' x 25'

I need to replace my 3 ton (I think) heat pump (Lennox HP-23-411-1P).

I was told that the Lennox CVP10-46 (3.5 ton I think) coil inside the furnace also needs to be replaced because of the new 410 freon.

It was suggested by some air conditionig companies in my area that a 3 ton heat pump is too powerful for my home size and to instead go with a 2.5 ton heat pump (external unit) and a 3 or 3.5 ton coil inside my furnace.

What do you think about this suggestion and what do you suggest?

Thanks for your help

They can't just say too much or too little, has to be mesured and calculated, I think what you have is what it should be. They want you to change the coil so it balances and compatible with their brands.
