Last night my great 2 week old great Dane puppy ate 3 ozs of milk. The next feeding he ate a little over 1/2 oz. now he doesn't want to eat at all just sleep. He wined a lot till we got him to poo but still won't eat. It's been over 6 hours. What do I do?

Are you bottle feeding ? Where is the mom ? Six hours isn't bad and sleeping is good. Don't forget large breed dog, different metabolism. If you are really concerned bundle him up and get him to the vet. It is extremely difficult to diagnose over the Internet, and there is a little baby involved. So susceptible at two weeks old.

I admire you for being dedicated to their welfare. Almost like feeding schedule for baby! Still think it is the breed and growth hormones kicking in, but vet visit still a good idea. You wouldn't want anything to happen, plus they are not getting their generous doses of immunity from mother's milk.

Yes, we tend to overlook 'not hungry' when bottle feeding newborn pups. That sort of proves the formula is satisfying the newborn appetite. Thanks for letting me know. Good luck Dane28 in raising these lovely animals!
